The Seven Signs Revisited...
A friend asked me a while ago about my opinion on the seven signs mentioned in the Book of Revelation, and where we are in the process. Some new thoughts...
I responded to her question with this post, but I have been giving it some more thought over the last few days, and I think now that the signs really don't matter. The signs are given as a warning to the unbelievers, to show that God is in charge, and that Christ will return. We are shown what tribulations are going to come upon the Earth (all of us), but for us the meaning is simple; we are to be prepared at all times for the return of the Lord. Our portion comes in chapter 18:
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying,Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues
We see that we need to separate ourselves from Babylon, and come out of her. The day is now to show with whom we stand. We must stand, in these last days, against all those who would call good evil, and evil good. Notice that Babylon is an entity unto herself, a city and not an individual. We must stand against institutions that condone, and even promote, un-christian acts, be they churches, governments, or businesses. We can't afford to vote for parties or people that espouse the wholesale murder of unborn children, nor those who condone whoredoms. We MUST stand for Christ or find ourselves in the camp of the enemy.
Bottom line, stand with Christ in all things and you don't need to worry about signs, or plagues, or natural disasters, or war.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroyboth soul and body in hell.
We are to trust in Christ. Period.
